Clarksville has planted all the seeds for a successful Applefest this weekend.

The 36th annual event includes a parade, apple baking, contests and dinners on Saturday. On Sunday, writers from around the area will present their works at 2 p.m.

People who attend will find an art and crafts show and quilting demonstrations both days. In addition, local artisans and merchants will have special hours.
