Pike County Missouri officials are taking another look at the use of county-owned vehicles.
The discussion first surfaced over the summer and was revisited during a meeting Monday.
At issue is the use of county vehicles for transporting people who are not county employees. Debate centers on legal responsibility versus quick response — especially to emergencies.
No decision has been made and no changes are planned for now, but officials say they’ll take a closer look at state law and policies in other counties as their review continues.
In June, commissioners issued a memo saying workers must stop transporting unauthorized passengers.
