Pike County students can get free supplies at the Back-to-School Fair on Saturday (Aug. 9).
The event is from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pike County Fairgrounds along Highway 54 just east of Bowling Green. Kids from Head Start to high school are welcome.
Students who are accompanied by an adult will receive a backpack with supplies. Last year, more than nine thousand dollars of items were given away.
Free haircuts, health screenings, a petting zoo, train rides and a visit by a medical helicopter also are planned.
The event is sponsored by the Pike County Community Partnership and supported by dozens of area businesses and groups.
