County Market plans to open its three million dollar store in Louisiana on August 19th.
The opening will come with a band, a cookout and a ribbon cutting starting around 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Twin Pike Shopping Center on Georgia Street.
A spokesman for County Market’s parent company said Wednesday that the community is invited. A similar store opening in Palmyra drew around two thousand people.
About 60 employees have been hired and renovation work of the former Kroger store is progressing.
Louisiana has been without a large-service grocery store since Kroger closed in October 2012. Karl’s in downtown Louisiana offers groceries and movies.
