Bowling Green may soon have another fast food option.
The city has accepted a tentative offer from a Taco Bell franchisee to build a restaurant on a one-acre lot near the Business Highway 61 round-a-bout.
The city had sought at least 180 thousand dollars for the site, which is next to the Saints Avenue Café.
Specific terms of the deal have not been released, but the city had originally sought at least 180 thousand dollars for the site.
City Administrator Dan Lang said Tuesday that work remains and that the offer will require final approval by aldermen. That could happen in the next two months.
If all goes according to plan, construction could begin this fall and be completed next year. The developer owns other Taco Bell restaurants.
The lot is next to the Bowling Green Plaza business park, which has seen a lot of interest in the last six months. Three lots have been sold recently, with about 12 acres of undeveloped land remaining.
