Authorities are following up on a possible kidnapping in Pike County Missouri.

Sheriff Stephen Korte said the purported victim was found unharmed near Canton about two hours after his department got the call at mid-afternoon Tuesday.

The caller said the unidentified woman had gotten into a vehicle with a stranger after the car she and three family members were riding in broke down near the Pike and Lincoln County line in the Eolia area.

Korte said the investigation continues and other details will be released.
