Two Louisiana groups are moving to a prime piece of real estate.
The chamber of commerce and the tourism bureau are relocating to the former British Petroleum Pic-A-Dilly convenience store at the foot of the Champ Clark Bridge.
Chamber Director Chris Koetters says the move opens greater opportunities. The location also offers a lot more traffic and a much lower rent.
The groups hope to complete the move by July Fourth. They’ve been at the Louisiana Area Historical Museum downtown for 18 months.
The new site is leased by County Market, which plans to open a grocery store on the west side of town later this year.
