Wow! What a journey it has been. This week we finished up the final week of
this Legislative Session. It has been a
great privilege to serve as your State Representative and work every day for
the people of the 40th District.
I am excited for a lot of great pieces of legislation that
we passed this year. While we did not
get to finish everything we set out to do—whether it was due to disagreements
among members, the Senate, or the Executive Branch; we were able to take
several steps forward on providing a better life for all Missourians.
This year we passed the largest tax break in Missouri’s
history for ALL Missourians. We worked
on various Veterans’ issues and made sure that we were always putting first
those who have sacrificed so much for our country. We explored many new developments in the
Agriculture Industry and ensured that we are helping our farmers continue to
feed this nation. Through various
reforms and funding models we made quality education for ALL Missourians at
every level a top priority. Of course,
economic development and job creation received their fair share of time and
energy this session.
No, we did not solve all of the problems we are seeing go on
in our Country; but we did take several strides forward on making Missouri a
state that protects the rights of its citizens and provides a healthy business
climate for entrepreneurs all across this country. Although this session has just ended, and I
am looking forward to spending my time back in the district working with my
constituents, I already have my eye on the next legislative session thinking
about what we can do to make life better for Missourians all across this great
state.
As always, it has been an honor to serve as your State
Representative here in Jefferson City. Thank you for the input and support
throughout this legislative session.
