The BONCL elementary school was evacutated on Wednesday morning after a power outage caused a surge in a breaker box and created a smoky smell in the building.
The Buffalo Township Fire Department responded to the school around 11:00 a.m., but no flames were found. Power was restored within 20 minutes. Students were dismissed at 11:30am. No damage was visible at the school.
This was the first of two smoke related power outages that the Buffalo Township Fire Department responded to in less then 20 minutes. A second call was received from a residential location.
