The Missouri Department of Revenue and the Office of Administration have canceled the state contract with Meredith Miller, the agent of the Bowling Green License Office. The office (located at 15 N. Main Cross St.) will be closed until a new agent is named . But customers in the City of Bowling Green and Pike County area have nearby offices in which they can conduct driver license, titling and other motor vehicle transactions.
“The agent did not live up to the provisions of the contract that she signed with the state, and the Department exercised its option of canceling the contract with her,” said Alana M. Barragán-Scott, director of the Missouri Department of Revenue. “I know this action may inconvenience some customers, and it’s not an action we took lightly. But it’s vital that agents comply with the conditions of the state contract, and that customers have confidence that their local office is being run in an efficient manner.”
Miller had been the agent of the Bowling Green License Office since September of 2009. According to figures from Fiscal Year 2010, the Bowling Green office conduct ed 18,394 transactions and charged $62,584 in agent processing fees.
