Part of the fun of the annual Louisiana Country Colorfest on
Oct. 16-17 is the contests and this year's celebration will be no exception.
There will be a Little Mr. and Miss Colorfest, Junior Miss
Colorfest and Miss Colorfest contest at this year's event. The Children's
Miracle Network will once again sponsor the contests with Walmart staff
assisting. Amy Capstick is heading up all three of the events.
Contestants for the competitions are invited to ride on a
float in the Colorfest parade that will kick off the event on Saturday.
The Little Mr. and Miss contest is open to children 3-7
years-old. Parents can preregister or
sign up the day of the competition.
The Junior Miss Colorfest contest is open to girls 8-13
years-old and the Miss Colorfest competition is open to girls 14-18 years-old
with no children or live-in partner.
For both the Junior Miss and Miss Colorfest contests, preregistration
is required along with a 50-word paragraph on the contestant's community
betterment or extracurricular activities. A cocktail dress or slacks are
required for the competition.
Those interested should contact Amy Capstick at
