On Monday, at approximately 4 am, the Pike County Sheriff’s
Office received a 911 call from 7744 Pike 59 Frankford, MO. The residence is
located approximately a half mile south of Frankford in a heavily forested
area. A juvenile caller reported an
ongoing domestic dispute between her father Johnnie Wayne Bailey, a 43 year old
white male, and her mother. While the 911 operator was on the phone with the
complainant, the 911 operator overheard arguing and gunshots in the background.
The complainant told the 911 operator Bailey was trying to kill them. Deputies
arrived on scene a short time later and were able to evacuate the family from
the residence to a safe location. Bailey was last seen near the residence with
a gun. Other members of the Sheriff’s Office and members of the Missouri State
Highway Patrol quickly responded to the scene and secured the perimeter of the
residence.
Due to the level of violence that was exhibited by Bailey during
the domestic dispute, Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte requested the
assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C S.W.A.T. Team. After
several failed attempts to contact Bailey inside the residence, The Troop C
S.W.A.T. Team entered the residence, but discovered Bailey had already fled the
area. A search of the surrounding area was conducted; however Bailey was not
located.
A warrant for Bailey’s arrest has been obtained. Prosecuting
Attorney Mark Fisher has charged Bailey with the Class B Felony of Unlawful Use
of a Weapon. The Honorable Judge David Ash has set Bailey’s bond at $25,000
cash only.
Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte reports Bailey should be
considered armed and dangerous, and urges anyone with any information on his whereabouts
to contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at (573) 324-3202 or to contact
CrimeStoppers at 1-888-324-0911.
