Andy Schuckenbrock has officially signed on to run track at
the University of
Missouri next year. Andy is a 2010 Bowling Green graduate who participated in 4
years of track and cross country for the Bobcats.
Bowling
Green High School
track and cross country coach Matt
Chance adds: “This is a tremendous honor and a great opportunity to run at the
Division 1 level. Andy has showed
improvement every year and I believe his best days are still ahead of him
during his collegiate years.”
Andy had an incredible career while participating in track
and cross country. He was a 2 time all
conference and all district cross country runner. He also earned All State
honors in cross country during the 2010 season.
He was a major part of the 2009 Boys state championship team. Andy has been just as successful on the
track. He has numerous conference and
district individual championships in the 110 High Hurdles, 300 meter hurdles,
and 4 x 400 relay. He broke two schools
records this past year in the 110 high hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. He finished off a great career at the 2010
Class 3 state track meet where he finished 2nd in the 300 hurdles
and 4th in the 110 hurdles while earning all state honors in both
events. Coach Chance stated “Andy has
worked extremely hard to achieve his goals.
He is a very motivated individual that does not set limits on what he
can do. Andy has also been an excellent
role model for our younger track and cross country runners. He is still the
only individual that I know that has received all state in cross country and
all state in both hurdle events.”
Andy will begin training with the Missouri Tigers in the
fall and will begin competing in late December when the Indoor track season
officially begins. Andy is the son of
Mike and Laurie Schuckenbrock of Bowling
Green.
