Sheriff Stephen W. Korte releases information pertaining to
recent burglaries outside the Bowling
Green area.
During the evening to morning hours of July 2nd the
businesses of the Split Rail Vet Clinic and St.
Clement Auto Sales were broken into. During the burglary of the vet clinic
Ketamine, Phenobarbital, and Fatal Plus were stolen. Of these stolen drugs
Phenobarbital is used as an anti-seizure medication, Fatal Plus is used to
euthanize animals, and Ketamine is used as an anesthetic medication. During the burglary of the St. Clement Auto
Sales business, car batteries, check books and a small caliber handgun were
stolen.
Sheriff Korte would like to caution the community due to the
nature of the drugs stolen from the vet clinic. It is common for individuals to
use Ketamine as the “Date Rape Drug”, and can be easily placed into someone’s
drink without their knowledge. This would cause them to lose motor skills and
slip into a lethargic state, causing them to be unaware of what is happening
around them or even to them. The
strengths and potential danger of the other medications stolen could cause
potential harm to anyone else who comes into contact with these drugs including
the burglars.
Anyone with information pertaining to these crimes can call
the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at 573-324-3202 or Pike County Crime Stoppers
at 573-324-5000 or 1-888-324-0911.
