The St. Louis Cardinals and the American Red Cross are partnering
again to show how the power of teamwork can help save lives as well as win
baseball games.
The annual American Red
Cross-St. Louis Cardinals Step Up to the Plate and Donate blood drive,
sponsored by KSDK and KTRS, will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 29 at The Center of Clayton, 50 Gay Ave. Locally St. Louis Cardinals fans in Pike and Lincoln Counties
can participate by donating at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green Wednesday,
June 30 from noon and 6:00pm.
Everyone who
attempts to donate will receive a specially designed T-shirt while supplies
last and will be entered into a raffle for Cardinals prizes.
With the
blood supply traditionally at lower levels during the summer, with schools out
and families on vacation, the Cardinals and the American Red Cross are asking
for your help.
To
donate blood, a person must be in good health, be at least 17 years old (16
with a Red Cross parental consent form) and weigh at least 110 pounds. Blood
donors should bring a Red Cross donor card, valid driver’s license with a photo
or other form of official picture identification.
For more information or to
schedule an appointment, donors locally should call 573-470-0778 or 1-800-RED
CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org.
Walk-ins are also welcome.
