Using its "Snooper" truck, MoDOT crews will perform its annual inspection of the bridge over Noix Creek on US 54 between Bowling Green and Louisiana. Weather permitting, the work is scheduled to be done the week of March 29th, although the exact date is not known at this time.
The
Snooper truck sits on the bridge deck and uses an arm with a bucket
that reaches over the side and underneath the bridge so the inspector
in the bucket can evaluate the bridge. "The inspection and lane closure
will only take an hour or two, yet it is vital for safety that traffic
be controlled while workers perform the inspection," said Mark
Knickerbocker, bridge supervisor in MoDOT's Northeast District.
