Louisiana brought home two awards from the Missouri Community Betterment Conference.

The city received a first-place Community Award and a second-place Youth Groups award among other competing towns of its size. Mayor Bart Niedner picked up one of four Adult Leadership honors.

The only other winner from the area was Gordon Ipson of Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative in Palmyra. He received a Missouri Community Betterment Ambassador Award.
