BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — Press release from Stephen W. Korte with the Pike County Missouri Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on February 3, Charles F. Reef III, age 27, of rural Pike County escaped from the Pike County Missouri Jail. Reef scaled the razor topped fence of the outside recreation yard in his escape. He was taken back into custody near Locust and 8th Street in Bowling Green by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.

Reef is in custody on a no bond warrant, for charges of domestic assault and property damage. Additional charges will be sought from the escape.

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent by the court until proven guilty.
