PIKE COUNTY, Mo. — No matter how you slice it, without volunteers the Pike County Missouri Fair wouldn’t be as successful as it’s been over the years. Many of those volunteers come via fair board members, like pictured above, board vice-president Bryan Dempsey spent hours on the tractor Saturday night smoothing out the track during the truck and tractor pull. Other volunteers come from community organizations chipping in to help in the food stand, beer garden, taking care of security and providing EMS services. Below, members of the Eolia Fire Department were on hand at the truck and tractor pull. Throughout the week, you will find members of all the area fire departments, sheriff’s department and Pike County Memorial Hospital on the grounds to make sure everyone has a safe and happy fair week.
