CLARKSVILLE, Mo. — Clopton celebrated the completion of a heartfelt project. The Clopton FFA officially presented to the community a memorial bench, located in front of the Clopton school, is in honor of beloved friend, mentor, and instructor Mike McCrory.
Recognizing that McCrory left the Clopton community too soon when he passed away in October, the school continues to honor his legacy that lives on through the connections he formed and his love of this community.
McCrory was an active member in 4-H and FFA at Clopton High School during his youth and that continued even after he graduated from University of Missouri Columbia when he returned to the area.
In the announcement, the school identified that, “Mr. McCrory called Clopton home as he shared his talents and knowledge with many students.”
McCrory served as the Agriculture Instructor/FFA Advisor for Clopton High School for 33 years in the Clopton School District. He also was an advisor in the Elsberry School District. After leaving the teaching world, he continued to help with FFA activities including the annual BBQ, where he spread his knowledge and love of agriculture to anyone who would listen.
