BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — There are two bright spots for people who need help with their utility bills in Missouri.
The North Eat Community Action Corporation says the application deadline has been pushed back from September 30th to Oct. 31st.
Even better is a change to income eligibility that means more people will qualify.
NECAC has about one-and-a-half million dollars in funding available for the program. Because of the rule changes, a family of four making $3,219 a month may now qualify. That’s up by 322 dollars from the previous level.
NECAC warms that the changes will not apply to the winter portion of the utility assistance program, which begins November 1st for the elderly and disabled, and December 1st for other applicants.
