BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — The Bowling Green municipal pool is set to open for the summer on Friday, June 12.
The decision was made following approval from Gov. Mike Parson and the Pike County Health Department. Staff are currently completing certifications and preparing the pool for operation. Opening day is officially a week away.
City Administrator Linda Luebrecht assured the city that pool staff would be implementing standards in effort to best comply with social distancing practices.
The pool will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m, and on the weekends from noon to 5 p.m. Daily admission for kids ages three to 12 is $3, admission for individuals 13 and up is $4. Kids under the age of two have no admission cost. At this time the pool will not be offering season passes.
Lounge chairs will not be supplied as lifeguards will not have time to frequently sanitize chairs and other public equipment. Those who would like a place to sit other than the concrete are encouraged to bring in their own lounge chair.
Water will be sold at the pool, but other beverages and snacks will not be available for purchase. Pool visitors are allowed to bring coolers with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to the facility. Each cooler will be checked before entrance.
Pool rentals for events will be offered as they have in the past. The city is currently working on getting a phone for the pool so scheduling and questions about service can be directed to pool staff.
