BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — Utility bill help is available locally.
Starting Monday (June 1), the North East Community Action Corporation will take applications for summer energy assistance.
It pays overdue electricity bills of up to $300 for income-qualifying households. The federally-funded program is available in Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, St. Charles, Shelby and Warren counties.
Last year, NECAC assisted more than 2,900 households with summer utility assistance, up by about 600 from 2018.
