BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — You’ve got more time to apply for utility assistance in Missouri.
The state has extended the deadline for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program through May 31st due to the coronavirus outbreak. The North East Community Action Corporation is accepting applications. You can go online or call one of NECAC’s 12 county service centers.
LIHEAP can pay part of the energy bills of income-qualifying people. Eligible households could receive a minimum of $47 up to a maximum of $495, depending upon income, household size and type of heating source. Payments are made directly to utility companies.
